Preconference seminars start May 12 and feature Lessons in Writing Popular Fiction with contributors to the writing guide Many Genres, One Craft, a new release by Headline Books. Heidi Ruby Miller and Michael Arnzen, editors of the guide, will also be in attendance.
The new, comprehensive writing guide Many Genres, One Craft is based on the Seton Hill University Writing Popular Fiction Graduate Program. Contributors will offer six workshops for craft and career on Thursday in an all-day intensive preconference event. The three morning sessions focus on plotting with Victoria Thompson, character with Timons Esaias, and setting with Heidi Ruby Miller and Jason Jack Miller. In the afternoon, sessions focus on pursuing publication with Natalie Duvall and Matt Duvall, building a brand with Mary SanGiovanni, and investing in your writing with Michael A. Arnzen.
When the conference kicks off, attendees will want to hear Cathy Teets and Rick Robinson in their panel discussion of publishing.
Teets has 26 years of experience,130 titles, 67 active authors and 60 national awards that include Independent Book of the Year, Winners at the Paris and New York Book Festivals, seven Mom’s Choice Award Winners.
Robinson has been described as the hardest working author in fiction and his hard work has paid off.
The film rights to Manifest Destiny, his third political novel, have just been purchased for six figures. The screenwriter of “The Deer Hunter” is attached to write.
