LOS ANGELES – USABookNews.com, the premiere online magazine and review website for mainstream and independent publishing houses, announced the winners and finalists of THE USA “BEST BOOKS 2011” AWARDS on November 1, 2011. Over 500 winners and finalists were announced in over 140 categories covering print, e-books and audio books. Awards were presented for titles published in 2010 and 2011.

Jeffrey Keen, President and CEO of USA Book News, said this year’s contest yielded an unprecedented number of entries, which were then narrowed down to over 500 winners and finalists.

  • The Daughter's Walk by Jane Kirkpatrick (Water Brook/Random House) took home the “Best General Fiction” prize
  • Many Genres One Craft: Lessons in Writing Popular Fiction (Headline Books) was awarded Finalist “Business: Writing and Publishing”
  • Hell on Two Wheels: An Astonishing Story of Suffering, Triumph, and the Most Extreme Endurance Race in the World by Amy Snyder (Triumph Books, a division of Random House) snagged top honors in “Health”, “Non-Fiction Narrative” and “Sports”
  • Why Do My Feet Say Yes when My Head Says No (Headline Books) was honored as Finalist for “Best Children’s Self Help Book”
  • Carnation Children’s Book Series (Headline Books) Finalist won accolades for “Best Children’s Book Series”
  • The “Best Inspirational Spiritual Book” was awarded to Blessed: Living a Grateful Life by Ellen Michaud (Reader's Digest)
  • What Would You Do? A Kid’s Guide to Staying Safe in A World of Strangers (Headline Books) was honored in “Parenting/Family Reference”
  • Dear Success Seeker: Wisdom from Outstanding Women by Michele R. Wright, Ph.D. (Simon & Schuster / Atria Books) was awarded “Best New Non-Fiction”
  • Lady’s Day to Play (Headline Books) was awarded Finalist for “Best Children’s Picture Book Softcover Fiction”
  • Tucker's Monster by S.S. Wilson (Real Deal Productions, Inc.) took home the “Best New Fiction” award
  • My Horse Samson (Headline Books) Finalist for “Best Children’s Non-Fiction”
